Fuck Yeah John Denver

reflections

John Denver sings about women in a way that seems quaint by today’s standards. The narrator in his songs shares a life with the women in the songs, shares adventure, shares days and farms and roads with them. Growing old with Country Mama seems groovy. The stories are filled with phone calls and eparture. They talk about what the inlaws had to say and feeling the baby move.

He wants and enjoys a *life* with the women in his songs—he doesn’t want sex or their ass or a mouth to ejaculate in or their unending love. He wants to open his body to them (come fill me again) and share his world with them. He wants a life with these women—not because women can be used, but because partnership makes a home a home.
